- Information about print subscriptions
- All postage and handling is already included in the price of a print subscription.
- It is the policy of the University of Nebraska Press to charge the “individual” subscription rate if a subscription is paid for by a personal check or credit card. Otherwise, the institutional rate applies.
- Once a subscription order is placed, no cancellations are allowed.
- With a few exceptions, our print subscriptions are volume-based. That means your one-year subscription will consist of issues from the same volume. Unless you tell us specifically which volume you wish to subscribe to, we will determine the most logical volume, and, therefore, starting issue, for your subscription. To protect your ability to claim missing issues on behalf of your customers, we strongly urge you to specify the volume desired when ordering a new subscription.
- Please notify us in advance of any address changes. When contacting us, provide both the old and new address.
- Information about electronic subscriptions
- Most of the journals published by the University of Nebraska Press are available online on the Project MUSE platform.
- Libraries and other institutions may subscribe to the journals as part of a Project MUSE collection or as single title subscriptions. In either case, the subscription should be placed directly with Project MUSE or a library subscription agent.
- If individuals are able to subscribe to the electronic version of a journal, it will be one of the subscription options on the journal’s page on this website. All individual subscriptions to electronic journals must be ordered online.

- Information about back issues
- Postage and handling will be added to back issue orders.
- Allow up to 2 weeks for standard delivery to addresses in the US, although most will be delivered within 7 business days. Most standard international orders will be delivered within 8 weeks, but some may take longer. If you have concerns about a back issue order, please email or call us.
- Our standard shipping method for back issues delivered to US addresses is USPS Ground Advantage. We can provide tracking information on request, but it may take a few days for us to receive that information from our warehouse.
- As a general rule, orders shipped via our standard method cannot be considered “lost” until after 3 weeks in the US and 12 weeks outside the US.
- Expedited shipping and handling is available. Customers can choose “expedited” at checkout, and their orders will be shipped, most commonly, via FedEx Ground or FedEx International Economy. Faster options are available by calling us.
- Download our current price list.
- Print subscription orders for journals other than Western American Literature are to be sent to the University of Nebraska Press. Mail orders with checks to:
University of Nebraska Press
c/o MPS North America LLC
941 West Morse Blvd, Ste. 100
Winter Park, FL 32789
Send purchase orders and requests for proforma invoices to unpjournals@highwirepress.com. - Electronic or Print+Electronic subscriptions should be sent to Project MUSE.
- Print subscriptions to Western American Literature must be ordered through the Western Literature Association.
- The following apply to print-only subscriptions.
- All subscriptions must be prepaid before an order can be processed.
- All orders sent in with payments less than the current subscription rate will be held until the additional payment is made. We will notify you of the remaining balance required to activate the subscription.
- If the subscriber is located outside the US, the non-US subscription rate applies even if UNP is directed to send the journals to a distribution center within the US. Failure to pay the international rate will void the subscriber’s ability to file a claim for missing copies.
- UNP does not currently offer agent discounts.
- Proforma invoices are available upon request.
- We will honor claims for missing or damaged issues for six months after the original mailing date of an issue. All claims should be sent to the University of Nebraska Press at unpjournals@highwirepress.com, not the journal’s editor or its related society. (The exception is Western American Literature. Both orders and claims must be directed to the Western Literature Association.) If a claim is rejected, the missing issue may be purchased at its regular back issue price.
- Direct other questions to unpjournals@highwirepress.com or call 1-866-978-0295.
